An Abandoned Cars in A Warehouse – Old Ursus Factory

Abandoned Factories

Searching for abandoned places near me, I pay special attention to abandoned factories. There is something magical about them and they are perfect destinations for an urbex trip. Brick walls, rusty devices, turbines, furnaces – all of them create the unique mood of those places. We like to watch them and imagine that they are still working.

Seemingly, factories are similar, but each is special in its way. In abandoned chemical factories, we can find the rest of the laboratory glass or rusty reactors. Old furniture factories are usually full of wood.In abandoned breweries, we can find old vats. In a word, you can see the equipment and you know what was produced here.

Not only stuff but also architecture helps identify the type of abandoned factory. For example, huge halls with columns are typical for cotton mills like Uniontex or Osser. Low brick buildings with a semi-circular entrance are brickyards from the 19th century.

But the object visited by us years ago is special. It consisted of several buildings and each of them was different. That was an abandoned machine factory in Ursus, Warsaw.

Ursus - Abandoned Factory in Warsaw

Most people know this place as an abandoned tractor factory. In fact, many other types of equipment were produced there. The factory started to work before WW2 and trucks and buses were made there. Next, they expanded their production by motorbikes, tanks, armored cars, and other military stuff. During the war, the factory was destroyed and the equipment was stolen.  But it wasn’t over. It was rebuilt in 1947 and started work as an agricultural machinery factory. In 70’s and 80’s over 30 000 people were employed there and over 50 000 tractors were made each year. Unfortunately, the factory got into debt and it was closed in late 90’s.

Abandoned Factory Exploration

Urban exploration in this place was amazing but dangerous. We entered through a hole in the wall, it was easy. But the building was decaying inside and we were afraid that something would collapse. We also found new beer bottles. It means that someone visited this place and we were not alone there. Despite the fears, we visited this place and we regret nothing.

That was one of the most interesting abandoned places. We saw two big halls with plenty of stuff, a long corridor, small offices and finally an abandoned warehouse with an old truck.Everything was brilliant. Almost… Visiting was interrupted by a naked man on a balcony. Yes, we’re not kidding. During urbex, you may meet homeless people, drug addicts, and weirdos. Undoubtedly that was one of them. We saw him but probably he didn’t see us. Anyway, we ran away because a further trip could be risky. Remember, urbex is sometimes dangerous and you have to be vigilant anytime.

We survived, but unfortunately, the building did not. Keep calm, it’s not about the naked man 🙂 .  As we mentioned, this old factory was in very bad condition and it has to be demolished. It’s typical of urbex buildings. Today we can admire their beauty, but tomorrow they would be destroyed. The only way to save them is abandoned places photography. Many years ago, during our trip, we took a lot of photos in this abandoned industrial building. We hope you’ll enjoy them.
