Exploring derelict buildings like the abandoned railway boiler room in Kutno is an exhilarating experience, but it comes with its own set of challenges. One of the first obstacles we encountered was simply gaining access to the site. The building is tucked away, making it difficult to find an easy entry point. While it might be tempting to climb through the broken windows, this isn’t always the safest option—especially when they’re too high off the ground.
Instead, we recommend taking the time to search for open doors or other safer entry points. In our case, patience paid off as we eventually discovered an accessible door that allowed us to enter without risking injury. Once inside, the challenges continued. The floor was unstable in places, with loose debris and rusted metal creating hazards at every turn. It’s crucial to move slowly and deliberately, testing each step before committing to it. Bringing proper gear is essential—sturdy boots, gloves, and a good flashlight can make all the difference. Additionally, always have a first aid kit on hand and avoid exploring alone. The thrill of urban exploration should never come at the cost of safety. By staying cautious and prepared, you can fully enjoy the adventure while minimizing risks.
